General Program

Walden’s MS in Human and Social Services General Program explores the full spectrum of human and social services competencies and strategies to prepare you to make a greater difference in the community you serve. As a student, you will learn best practices for delivery systems, program planning, and evaluation methods. The curriculum includes a grant writing course and a focus on interprofessional practice to help you advance your career as an effective human services and social services professional. By studying a broad range of topics, you can expand your understanding of the field within a global context and gain practical skills you can apply immediately on the job.

Note on Licensure: The MS in Human and Social Services program, including its specializations, is not designed to lead to professional licensure including licensure as a professional therapist, counselor, social worker, or psychologist.

Completion Requirements

  • 48 total quarter credits
    • Foundation course (3 cr.)
    • Core courses (25 cr.)
    • Elective/specialization courses (15 cr.)
      (includes Grant Writing course)
    • Capstone (5 cr.)
