Curriculum

Complete your dissertation and earn your degree from our PhD in Management program, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). With guidance from your faculty mentor and other doctoral student support staff, you’ll design a research project and complete your dissertation on a management topic that supports your personal interests and expertise.

With the dissertation completion option, you will participate in two in-person dissertation intensives that give you the opportunity to meet face-to-face with Walden faculty and staff; network and socialize with peers; and participate in hands-on workshops that will help enhance your research, writing, and critical thinking skills as you work on your dissertation.

Minimum Completion Requirements

  • 25 total quarter credits
    • Preparing for Dissertation course (5 cr.)
    • Proposal, dissertation, and oral presentation (minimum 20 cr.)
    • Two dissertation intensives (in-person writing workshops)

Students are encouraged to complete the dissertation within 1 to 2 years. The maximum time to degree completion is 3 years.

The majority of our students take over 2 years to complete their doctoral study or dissertation.
