Concentration Courses
Running a small business is no small task and it requires knowledge of several key business functions, including finance, accounting, human resources, and marketing. In this course, students explore the variety of responsibilities and opportunities that come with managing a small business. Through interactive resources, discussions, and assignments, they apply their knowledge to address real-world, career-related challenges. Upon successful completion of the course, students have the opportunity to earn a workplace certificate in small business management.
Students in this course examine how corporations succeed and grow by embracing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the organization. Students learn current models for corporate entrepreneurship and innovation that align with the strategic objectives of the enterprise. Students also examine the design of repeatable and sustainable processes that leverage existing business practices and support entrepreneurial initiatives.
Entrepreneurs envision opportunities and take action, and nowhere is this more evident than in the business world. In this course, students examine what it takes not only to start a new business venture but also how to use their knowledge of business functions to grow their initial idea into a successful enterprise over time. Through their assignments, students assume the role of an entrepreneur and build a plan for a real-world business concept. They have the opportunity to earn a workplace certificate in entrepreneurship upon successful completion of the course.

This is a great way to explore your interest in entrepreneurship and consider whether becoming an entrepreneur is right for you. Even if you aren't interested in founding a venture yourself, the skills you gain in entrepreneurship courses could be applied in a variety of work contexts.
Simply register for and complete the three courses in the Entrepreneurship concentration. The concentration will be added to your transcript once you have successfully completed all three entrepreneurship courses.
It takes only one and a half terms (three business entrepreneurship courses) to earn a concentration in entrepreneurship. And, as part of the concentration, you can also earn an industry-recognized micro-credential in entrepreneurship.
