Scholarships are another resource to help our students afford the degree that will help them take the next step towards fulfilling their goals. That’s why in 2018, Walden University is providing scholarship awards to help you make a difference in your life and in the lives of others in your community. When you take the first step toward pursuing a goal, you begin turning your dreams into reality. When you pursue a degree at Walden, you can begin to put your ideas into action.

Master’s Degree Scholarships
Award: Twenty $10,000 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Any Walden University Master’s degree program
This scholarship is offered to new students who want to learn the skills to advance in their careers and have contributed to advancing positive social change in the lives of others in their community.
Post Master’s/Doctoral Degree Scholarships
Award: Twenty $12,500 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Any Walden University Post-Master’s or Doctoral degree program
This scholarship is offered to new students who want to add to their creditability and influence within their field and have contributed to advancing positive social change in the lives of others in their community.
Ann “Tunky” Riley Excellence in K–12 Education Scholarships
Award: Up to four $25,000 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Bachelor’s, Master’s, Post-Master’s, and Doctoral programs in K-12 education
This scholarship is offered to new students who have contributed significantly to their students, colleagues, and learning communities enrolling in a Walden K–12 educator degree program.
Teacher of the Year Recipient Scholarship
Award: Full Tuition Scholarship
Since 2008, Walden University has recognized and honored State Teachers of the Year by offering each of these outstanding educators a full tuition scholarship when they enroll in one of the many education programs offered by Walden’s Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership.
Advancing Public Health Excellence (APEX) Scholarships
Award: One full-tuition and two $10,000 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Master of Public Health
This scholarship is offered to new students who have played a key role in promoting positive change by helping to save lives and money through a specific activity in their community.
Nursing Excellence Scholarships
Award: One full-tuition and up to four $10,000 scholarships for each of the programs
Eligible Programs: PhD in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Completion Program
This scholarship is offered to new students who are registered nurses and are making a positive difference in the lives of their patients, their organizations, and the future of nursing.
Barbara Solomon Scholarships for Social Work
Award: Up to two full-tuition, two $5,000 and two $10,000 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Master’s and Doctoral programs in social work
This scholarship is offered to new students who want to advance positive social change through a proven commitment to helping the underserved.
Tubman Scholarships for Excellence in Social Work and Positive Social Change
Award: Up to one full-tuition, two 25 percent tuition reduction scholarships
Eligible Programs: Master of Social Work program (full tuition), any Walden University Bachelor’s degree program (25 percent tuition reduction)
This scholarship is offered to new students who are current employees of Tubman and who have contributed to advancing positive social change in the lives of others in their community.
Dr. Ian Birdsall Excellence in Public Policy and Administration Scholarships
Award: Up to ten $5,000 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Doctor of Public Administration and PhD in Public Policy and Administration
This scholarship is offered to current and new students who want to learn the skills to advance in their careers and have contributed to advancing positive social change in the lives of others in their community through the field of public policy and administration.
David Capuzzi Outstanding Scholar in Counselor Education and Supervision Scholarships
Award: Up to two 50 percent tuition reduction scholarships
Eligible Programs: PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision program
This scholarship is offered to new students who want to learn the skills to advance in their careers and have contributed to advancing positive social change in the lives of others in their community through the practice of counseling.
Jonathan Kaplan Excellence in Public Policy and Administration Scholarships
Award: Up to two $25,000 scholarships
Eligible Programs: Any Walden University Master’s or Doctoral degree program in the School of Public Policy and Administration
This scholarship is offered to new students who demonstrate academic ability and manifest an interest and aptitude in the field of public policy
Todd Benson Scholarship for Leadership in Business and Management
Award: One full-tuition scholarship
Eligible Programs: Bachelor’s programs in management and technology
This scholarship is offered to new students enrolling in an undergraduate program within the College of Management and Technology and have contributed to advancing positive social change.
