This is Mister Hernandez's classroom. He is a teacher here at Walden School, and you'll have the opportunity to work with him and his class. He's noticed several students in his class who are struggling with issues of bullying. He also has a high number of students who speak English as a second language. Now, Mr Hernandez is really willing to work with you and consult with you on issues with his students, but he is also mindful of not disrupting instruction. So you'll find that you sometimes have to get a little creative with how you work with students from his class.
Walden's virtual school is interwoven throughout the school counseling program. You'll revisit it periodically as you progress and acquire new skills and knowledge. Being a member of the virtual school staff will not only help you get a taste of your future profession, but will help prepare you for your field experiences in real schools that are also part of your Waldon school counseling program.
