SREEROOPA SARKAR: Hi. My name is Sreeroopa Sarkar. I'm the program director of the master's program in psychology at Walden University. I have a doctoral degree in educational psychology, and my research expertise lies in mental health promotion in school and community in the area of educational psychology and psychology of gender.
We do offer many different specializations that actually can tap your interest or actually meet your needs. For example, we do offer specialization in media psychology, which is among only a few online programs offered in the country. We do offer other unique specializations, like culture and psychology. We do offer other specializations, like terrorism and security and crisis management and response, which are very popular among our students so far.
At the end of our program, the students actually complete a research project, which is called an applied capstone. Or they can also complete theses where basically they integrate the knowledge they have obtained from their degree and they apply it in a real-world situation.
One thing I would like to mention in this regard is whatever our students do, whether they're working for an organization, whether they're working for a school or the government, whatever they do, they always have one thing in mind, and that's basically Walden's mission of social change. So they want to make sure whatever they are doing, that has a positive social impact on the society at large. And that's actually, I would say, the social change mission is the strength of Walden. That's the strength of our program, as well as the strength of our students.
