Minneapolis—April 25, 2011—
The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University announced today the addition of four new online certificate programs to help educators enhance their effectiveness in the classroom as they explore ways to motivate and support students and colleagues in their organization.
Walden’s new graduate certificate programs for educators are:
- The Graduate Certificate in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment provides educators with the tools to plan, develop and implement standards-based curricula and instruction to motivate students and promote their academic success. Educators also identify how to measure performance through effective, ongoing assessments and to support students in monitoring their own learning progress.
- The Graduate Certificate in Engaging Culturally Diverse Learners engages educators to explore learning that reflects global societal concerns about teaching students from diverse backgrounds. They study the latest tools and technologies, including models such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction, to create supportive and effective learning environments.
- The Graduate Certificate in Integrating Technology in the Classroom allows education professionals to explore the most current knowledge and strategies in the field as they gain the technological skills they need to enhance learning and support problem-solving in the digital age.
- The Graduate Certificate in Teacher Leadership offers education professionals the opportunity to discover their leadership strengths and learn to apply them to key educational challenges, including increasing student achievement and fostering parental involvement.
Walden’s Riley College of Education and Leadership also recently introduced online graduate certificate programs in College Teaching and Learning, Enrollment Management and Institutional Marketing and Professional Development.
