Minneapolis—September 27, 2006— Walden University, an accredited online institution, will put the university’s mission of effecting social change into action on Saturday, Sept. 30, during its National Day of Service. Alumni, faculty, administration and staff will lead community service projects across the country that will make a positive impact in their cities and neighborhoods.

“Walden University, with a mission of promoting positive social change, has been dedicated for over 35 years to the education of leaders who are change agents in their professions and communities. On this first-ever National Day of Service, we will become an army of on-the-ground social change agents working to have a direct impact in our communities,” said Paula E. Peinovich, PhD, president and provost of Walden University.
