Walden’s College of Management and Technology and School of Management recently received ACBSP’s first ever Accreditation Plus Award. Dr. Roberto Castaneda and Dr. Steve Verrone will discuss what the new award means for students who are seeking schools that demonstrate performance excellence in their business programs. They will also touch on the accomplishments of Walden’s expert faculty, who are active business leaders and practitioners from a wide range of industries.
Dr. Roberto Castaneda serves as program director for the BS in Accounting, MS in Accounting, and MS in Finance programs at Walden. He has been in the business sector for over 40 years, working in finance executive capacities with companies such as Price Waterhouse, McDonald’s Corporation, PepsiCo, and American Express. Dr. Castaneda is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois. He has been a board member and treasurer for the Illinois Literacy Foundation for over 15 years. Dr. Castaneda holds a doctorate in business administration from Argosy University, a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, and a BS in Commerce from DePaul University. He has written and presented on financial literacy over the past 20 years.
Dr. Steve Verrone has taught online business, management, and marketing courses for over 15 years and has been a faculty member at Walden for four years. His passions include teaching and developing strategic initiatives. His work experience includes serving as an independent consultant for a major firm that specialized in developing positioning strategies for nonprofit organizations. Dr. Verrone holds an AAS from Community College of the Air Force, a BS from the University of Phoenix, an MBA from Baker College, and a PhD from California Southern University.
