Research Interests 

Consequences of divorce in children’s emotional and behavioral development; evidence-based interventions; emotional and behavioral “problems”; learning in school-aged children


After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, completing requirements for his licensure, and practicing privately for 25 years, Dr. Trocchio accepted a position with the Hawaii Department of Education’s School Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) unit as their clinical psychologist. He joined Walden in 2005 and became coordinator of the Clinical Psychology specialization in March 2008. He serves as an international scholar with the Soros Institute which has led him to present at several international conferences. His current research interests are family structure and the assimilation of recently emigrated students to the United States.
