Dr. Beechinor is an entrepreneur with a successful nurse recruitment and retention consultation business since 1987 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is a practicing family nurse practitioner in rural communities of Hawaii. She has served on the board of directors of the American Nurses Association and the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Washington, D.C., and has been president of her state nurses’ association for several terms. She is politically active in nursing at the state and federal level, working toward change in the healthcare system to benefit the community and the profession. She has taught nursing at universities in Canada, the United States, and South Korea. She joined Walden’s faculty in 2008 and teaches courses in the graduate nursing program.
