Leadership and administration in healthcare and higher education; evidence-based prevention and rehabilitation; interventions for work-related musculoskeletal disorders; job satisfaction across healthcare settings and disciplines; workforce shortages in healthcare.


Dr. Snodgrass has served as a department chair and tenured associate professor at a small, private college in Tennessee. He has also held graduate faculty appointments at East Tennessee State University and the University of St. Augustine for the Health Sciences. Dr. Snodgrass is a licensed occupational therapist in Tennessee and Virginia and holds clinical specialty certifications as Certified Work Capacity Evaluator and Board Certified Disability Analyst. He is a fellow of the American College of Disability Analysts. Dr. Snodgrass has published peer-reviewed research in a variety of journals including the Journal of Allied Health and the American Journal of Occupational Therapy and has presented at the regional, state, and national levels covering such topics as leadership in healthcare as well as prevention and rehabilitation of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Snodgrass serves on the editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals and has served in a variety of capacities for state and national professional healthcare associations. He joined Walden’s faculty in 2007 and teaches courses in public health leadership and policy and administration, as well as mentors dissertation students.
