Research Interests

Using spirituality as an intervention within counseling and therapeutic settings, the affect/effect of HIV/AIDS, organizational leadership and teamwork, change in individuals in career and life transitions, spirituality, relationships and self-esteem


Dr. Smith has more than 20 years of experience working with individuals and organizations with issues pertaining to the fields of psychology and mental health, especially as they relate to human behavior (normal and abnormal) and organizational functioning. She has worked in higher education, government, and community health agencies. She is a nationally certified counselor and licensed professional clinical counselor. She is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® personality inventory, the Strong Interest Inventory®, the DiSC profile, and facilitative training.
