Leadership – Meet Our Faculty and Staff
Marilyn PowellVice Provost
Dr. Powell leads collaboratively across the university to innovate and implement online and blended learning options for working adults. Prior to her academic career, she worked in nonprofit behavioral health settings. In 2019, she was among a select group of leaders chosen to participate in the Baldrige Executive Fellows Program.
Dr. Barilovits joined Walden in 2010 and has played an instrumental role in building several of Walden’s technology degree programs. In addition to 25 years in leadership and teaching in higher education, she has experience as a programmer with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Jack McDonaldProgram Director
Dr. McDonald has held a variety of managerial positions in marketing and marketing research consulting fields, including being the president and partner in a large, closely held firm. His experience includes all facets of marketing as well as strategic management and operational roles.
Bob CastanedaProgram Director
Dr. Castaneda has worked in a number of countries in senior finance positions. He is currently a board member and treasurer for the Illinois Literacy Foundation and is also a member of Financial Executives International, AICPA, and the Illinois CPA Society.
