Web And Mobile Applications Development

When creating Web and mobile applications, developers must consider the usability, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility of the programs. This concentration examines the latest tools you can use to develop user-friendly and interactive applications that operate across multiple platforms. By focusing on key elements of the application development life cycle, including visual, information architecture, and interactive elements, you can gain the skills you need to build effective Web and mobile applications.

In this concentration, you can:

  • Design and develop applications that work across multiple platforms and operating systems, including cellular devices, smartphones, gaming, and stand-alone applications.
  • Gain knowledge and specific technical skills that can be applied in positions such as Web project manager, Web business analyst, and mobile applications developer and in other information technology and systems roles.

Degree Completion Requirements

  • 181 total quarter credits
    • General education courses (46 cr.)*

    • Capstone courses (10 cr.)

Students may be eligible to transfer up to 135 credits. At least 45 credits must be completed at Walden.

IT Elective Courses

Choose four courses from general education, BS in Information Technology, other Walden bachelor’s degree programs, or Accelerate into Master’s (AIM) courses. Your elective credits should total 20 to meet your program requirements. You may also be eligible to transfer previous credit to meet your elective requirements. Note on minors: Electives can also be used to complete a six-course minor. Although this program requires fewer than six elective courses, you have the option to complete a minor and graduate with more than the required number of credits for this program.
