Walden is an accredited university with a proud history of serving the educational needs of men and women in the armed forces. By providing broad access to quality higher education through distance learning, Walden has become the choice of more than 2,250 veterans and active-duty servicemen and servicewomen. Recently, G.I. Jobs named Walden to its 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools, which honors the top 15% of colleges, universities, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.

University programs are approved through the Minnesota State Approving Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs. Walden has a team of VA-trained certifying officials dedicated to supporting servicemembers, veterans, and their dependents.

Walden understands:

  • Temporary duty (TDY) and temporary additional duty (TAD) commitments
  • Deployment missions
  • That you can’t log in to classes at prescribed times
  • How to consolidate credits from multiple institutions
  • The unique needs of the military family

Earn and Transfer Your Credits

Walden is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium. This means you may be eligible to transfer credits from other educational institutions and get a head start on your degree at Walden. For example, Walden accepts certain credits from:

  • Joint Services Transcript
  • CCAF
  • Accredited U.S. universities and community colleges
  • Professional associations

You can also earn credit for military training and from national testing programs that you’ve completed while serving our country. For any type of educational accomplishment you’ve had in an extra-institutional setting that is recognized by the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Center for Adult Learning and Educational Credentials, you can use that experience toward your degree—saving you time and money.

Speak with an enrollment advisor to explore your degree acceleration opportunities.
