I talk about Walden University all the time. I have had a couple of colleagues at my school say, “An online degree? Really?” (You know) is that what that’s worth in it[self]?”  I explain to them the rigor and about just how exciting it is, at this point in a teacher’s life to just go back and use the technological tools that I didn’t have when I was in a master’s program or my undergraduate degree. So, from beginning teachers to seasoned teachers, I encourage them to really look at the Walden offerings, because I feel like they fit everyone, and there’s so much flexibility in terms of following your interests. And that was one of the best pieces of advice I ever got as a new teacher, was to follow your interests. Let those areas that you love find you. And that’s what happened to me. It’s almost like the Walden program found me and screamed at me, “Yes, you are a teacher-leader, and let’s see where you can go from here.”
