Dr. Yvette Roberts formal training is in executive leadership and technology where she has served in various leadership roles over her 40+ years in nursing. Dr. Roberts served as an Associate Director of Nursing for a 400+ bed hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She was also involved in workflow assessment and redesign, system design, and end user training prior to the implementation of an EMR.
Dr. Roberts has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level. At Governors State University, she was the Coordinator of the Nursing Leadership program at the master’s level. She primarily taught nursing finance, nursing leadership, and informatics courses. She served on several masters and doctoral student project/capstone committees.
At Walden University, Dr.Roberts teaches NURS 6051: Transforming Nursing and Healthcare Through Technology in the Nursing Informatics Program.
Dr. Roberts has presented at the Lambda Lambda Governors State University local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, International as the keynote speaker in 2018. In addition, she presented a poster at the 44th Biennial Convention Sigma Theta Tau International in 2017.
In 2015, she was recognized by the Chicago Chapter National Black Nurses’ Association for her Outstanding Nursing Service and Leadership as a Clinical Nurse Informatics Specialist.
