Ph.D. Industrial and Organizational Psychology

Dr. Lyon has been teaching at Walden University since 2016. She has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and work experience in government survey research and manufacturing.

She is a licensed psychologist in Tennessee and holds certifications in criterion-related instruction and instructional design. Her teaching experience encompasses many decades and she especially enjoys guiding students through the dissertation process.

Her public service focuses on activism. She is the author What's On Your Sign? How to focus your passion and change the world, The What's On Your Sign Workbook, and, with mental health activist Trish Lockard, Make a Difference with Mental Health Activism: No activism degree necessary-use your unique skills to change the world. At her website, https://lifeattheintersection.com she provides resources for activists to find the cause closest to their heart and make the most impact possible, doing what they love.

She is passionate about environmental activism, working to eliminate factory farms and encouraging people to reduce their meat consumption. Her volunteer work includes organizing vegan resources for her community and helping The Human League end animal cruelty. A certified Master Gardener, she helps community gardeners create sustainable and beautiful landscapes.

In addition, she is active in consumer activism through her volunteer work as a Professional Arbitrator at the Better Business Bureau and as Treasurer of a Federal Credit Union.
