Dr. Bjorkman currently lives near Green Bay, WI. In the recent past she has taught here at Walden and another online university, as well as psychology and education graduate courses at a local state university, but is now working full time with Walden University exclusively. She does some consulting work with local public school districts from time to time as well. There really isn’t anything about education, K-12 or higher ed, that Dr. Bjorkman doesn’t enjoy!
Dr. Bjorkman earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and her master’s and Ph.D. in psychology from Northern Illinois University. Her research interests include how children and adolescents respond to academic stress, and how social support can buffer the relationship between stress at school and negative outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and behavior problems. In her free time, Dr. Bjorkman enjoys cooking, reading, yoga, snow skiing, and enjoying the sun (when it’s out!). She has two young children who are the light of her life.
