Dr Sharon Xuereb has 10 years' experience teaching at universities, both brick-and-mortar and online ones, in the UK and the US. She teaches on the Prospectus and Capstone courses, and serves on many PhD dissertation committees.
Dr Xuereb has 10+ years' experience in clinical and forensic settings. She has worked with drug users in residential facilities and in the community, in residential and community mental health settings, and in child protection services. Dr Xuereb has conducted assessments of sexual offenders in prisons and in a forensic psychiatric hospital, and provided treatment and risk assessments for sexual and violent offenders who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
Dr Xuereb's research PhD was about shame, guilt, and denial in offenders. She has also researched university students who consider terminating their studies prematurely.
Dr Xuereb currently focuses on teaching. She also does pro bono work with refugees and asylum seekers.
