Shane David Slone earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in adult-geriatric acute care from the University of Kentucky in 2016. His captone project, “the effect of enteral feeding timing in septic shock patients” was presented at the European Society of Critical Care Medicine conference in Hong Kong in 2017. He is a new full time faculty member at Walden University in the Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. He has been in practice as an acute care nurse practitioner with a specialization in pulmonary critical care since graduation. He has been involved in quality improvement and process improvement within the critical care department.
