Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership
Greetings! Welcome and congratulations for embarking on your personal journey in higher education! My name is Shana Dyan Lester, Ph.D. A little about me… I was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I love it here and I’ve always been proud of my southern heritage. I graduated from Morris Brown College with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and immediately entered Brenau University, where I earned a Master’s of Education. One year later, I completed Lincoln Memorial University with my Ed.S. Degree in Education Administration and Supervision. In 2012, I graduated with my Ph.D. from Capella University in the area of Leadership K-12 Programs.
With over twenty-one years of successful teaching, I’ve had a plethora of experiences. I currently serve as an ESOL Educator for an Atlanta area school system. Some of my other areas of expertise and certification include, Gifted Education, Teacher Support Specialist, Parental Education, and Exploratory Learning. I have also been blessed to have served on school district’s Leadership Committees and Curriculum Development Teams.
On a personal note, I am the mother of three year old twins and I love to spend my free time grooving in dance classes, exercising, spending time with friends and family (usually eating) and traveling.
As I continue to grow and learn in my own life and career I urge you to do the same. After all, knowledge is power!
