Doctor of Education (EdD)

Dr. Shrofel was educated in Canada. She achieved a BA (English and Anthropology) and Bed (English and History) from the University of Manitoba. She taught secondary English for five years before beginning graduate studies. She began her graduate work at the University of Manitoba achieving a MA in Anthropological Linguistics. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Toronto achieving a PhD in Theoretical Linguistics.

Dr. Shrofel was a employed by the University of Regina from 1983 until 1999, moving through the ranks from Assistant Professor to Full Professor. In 1999, because of business opportunities of her husband, she relocated the United States where her career shifted from academic to administrative. After developing and establishing an EdD program at Aurora University in Illinois, she continued to develop her leadership skills as Dean of Education at Drake University in Iowa, Assistant Chancellor at Indiana University at South Bend, and Associate Provost for Graduate Programs and Research at University of Northern Kentucky. After retirement, she travelled and consulted internationally before returning to the United States. She has been employed as continuing faculty in the Riley College of Education at Walden University since 2013.
