Dr. Rochelle S. Michel is a Contributing Faculty member in the School of Psychology within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Her background is the area of psychometrics and has worked in the field of educational and psychological measurement for the past 14 years.
In Dr. Michel’s most recent role and in other roles throughout her career working on national, large-scale assessment programs such as National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and i-Ready, she provided program direction by combining testing expertise, business acumen, and research skills. In addition, she was an Assistant Professor of Research and Evaluation Methodology at Florida International University. Dr. Michel is an active member of the American Psychological Association, serving on the Coalition for Psychology in Schools and Education. Dr. Michel also served as the president of the Northeastern Educational Research Association in 2018-2019.
She holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, an M.A. in Mathematics Education from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Psychometrics from Fordham University.
