Robert Haines is currently the Associate Director for Faculty Quality Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, the world's largest aviation- and aerospace-focused university in Daytona Beach, FL. He oversees more than 1,800 faculty members from widely diverse backgrounds and a team of six faculty quality managers for the Worldwide Campus, consisting of over 125 campuses around the globe. Haines is also a creative consultant in the areas of quality, training, and education systems, working with the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, Peregrine Integrated Management, and Pro AMT Services. He teaches human factors, psychology, and research methods in classroom, online, and video-based modalities. He prides himself on his availability, accessibility, and willingness to engage in open dialogue on a multitude of issues associated with his responsibilities in the field.
Dr. Haines has spent over 30 years working with the transportation industry in both domestic and international settings, including commercial airlines, corporate aviation, and the trucking industry, exemplified by his integrity and adherence to established regulations and standards. His quality experience includes the implementation of ISO 9001 quality systems, Total Quality Management, and Continuous Improvement Programs, serving as an instructor, lead auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt, Quality Coordinator, and Director of Quality. Haines also serves as a lead examiner and a member of the Panel of Judges for the Arkansas Governor's Quality Award.
Holding master of science and doctorate degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University, Haines's research focuses on learning styles, motivation/behavior, and adult learning. He has chaired more than 15 Graduate Research Project committees and also serves as a doctoral dissertation committee member in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program at Walden University. His training experience includes technical, regulatory, quality, compliance, and interpersonal areas. As a faculty reviewer for the American Council on Education (ACE) in Washington, DC, he has worked on military and corporate programs and served on the Advisory Council for the ACE College Credit Recommendation Service, including two terms as chair.
His publication credits include peer-reviewed journals, the proceedings from conferences and seminars, and multiple trade publications in the areas of learning styles, motivation, quality, and psychology. Haines has presented at the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association Trade Show in Long Beach, CA; the Aviation Services and Suppliers Supershow in Las Vegas, NV; European Association of International Education in Tampere, Finland; the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics Inspection Authorization Conference in Jacksonville; the International Deming Research Seminar in New York City; Dassault Falcon Maintenance and Operations Conference in Monte Carlo, Monaco; and the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence in Little Rock, AR.
Robert has been married to his wife, Beverley, for more than 26 years and has four children. He is an active member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas, where he has served on the Emergency Response Team, the Men's Ministry team, in the choir, as the facilitator for new member classes, and on numerous special project teams.
