Dr. Snyder is one of the DBA program’s qualitative research methods experts. With Michael Owen Jones, he co-edited Inside Organizations (published by Sage), a pioneering book with qualitative studies in organizations. He has supervised over 100 case studies, and honed his own skills at USC’s Center for Futures Research and UC Berkeley’s Institute for Business and Economic Research.
He also co-founded the Center for Nonprofit Management and consulted nationally on management and strategic planning through the Support Center in Washington, DC. Consulting, contract research, media, and training clients have included Federal National Mortgage Association, Lockheed, McKinsey & Company, Close-Up, and various community groups.
Recognized for teaching excellence at Walden and the University of California, Dr. Snyder chairs DBA doctoral studies with significant implications for social change. These studies have included work on strategies for reducing microfinance loan default at the base of the pyramid; improving marine safety inspection in the U. S. Coast Guard; and implementing health information technology in Africa. One received the College of Management and Technology DBA doctoral study award.
He previously did media production and has contributed to National Public Radio and Community Jobs magazine, and been a video cameraman for the Smithsonian.
