Peter B. Anderson, Ph.D., has been a full-time faculty member in the Colleges of Health Sciences and Social and Behavioral Sciences at Walden University since the spring of 2007 and is now a Master Contributing Faculty member. He was a Full Professor in the Department of Human Performance and Health Promotion and a faculty member in Women’s Studies at the University of New Orleans prior to Katrina. He received his Ph.D. from New York University in Health with a specialization in Human Sexuality and has studied and taught sexuality in Kenya, Sweden, Denmark, Mexico, Costa Rica, Russia and the Czech Republic. He has published two edited books, ten book chapters, and over 75 professional articles. He is past president and past executive director of the Foundation for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (FSSS), a past Board Member for the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS), past-president for the Mid-continent Region of SSSS, the Senior Editor for the Electronic Journal of Human Sexuality, and a regular reviewer for several other professional journals. His current research interests include: AIDS, Sexual Aggression, the impact of Alcohol Consumption on Sexual Risk Behavior, Gender, and the intersections of Race, Gender, and Class. At a recent SSSS annual meeting Dr. Anderson was awarded the title of Fellow in the Society for his research and other contributions that have advanced the field of sexual science.
