Pelagia Melea holds a PhD (2016) in Pathology from the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an MSc (2012) in Community Dentistry and a Bachelor degree in Dentistry (2002) from the Dental School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She was a scientific collaborator in the Clinic and Laboratory of Preventive Dentistry department of Dental School, teaching undergraduate students for four years (2007-2011). She works as Visiting Lecturer and Researcher at Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2010. She holds a private practice since 2003. Her recent interests include Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Health Promotion and Education, Quality of Life of Ontological Patients, Curriculum Development. She also has a track record of international and national publications and professional presentations. Dr. Melea has worked as a researcher in community-based research settings in a variety of areas including oral epidemiology, oncology, intellectually disabled individuals, individuals with substance abuse disorders and has served as a member of the methodology/statistics team in many of those projects.
