Dr. Peggy Samples is a social psychologist and in past years has served as Program Coordinator and then Department Chair of Psychology, General Education and Positive Human Development and Social Change at Life University. She received her B.S. in psychology from the University of South Florida and her M.S. and Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Georgia. She is certified as a facilitator in Compassion and Integrity Training (CIT) and is a Co-Founding Fellow of the Center for Compassion, Integrity and Secular Ethics (CCISE) at Life University. She has taught several graduate and undergraduate courses both online and in the traditional format at Life University including Social Psychology, Research Methods, Positive Psychology, Positive Leadership, Science of Happiness and Positive Organizational Scholarship. She has also taught Cross-Cultural Psychology at Walden University. She is serving as committee chair or member on several student dissertation committees at Walden University. She is part of a research team conducting a longitudinal study evaluating the effects of educational and contemplative interventions in carceral settings at Life University. She is also conducting research on the operationalization and conceptualization of mercy and its expression.
