Dr. Deen is a naturalized US citizen who migrated from Tamale, the northern part of Ghana. He is a healthcare management expert by training, an educator by temperament, and a consultant by choice. He has an extensive experience in healthcare management, non-profit foundation and development with international working experience. Before his appointment as Faculty -Contributing, Healthcare management at Walden University, Dr. Deen was an Executive Director at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital – the 3rd largest University hospital in Africa. He leveraged on his technology experience to transform the Hospital’s patient electronic billing, support the development of a strategic plan, and led the implementation of Electronic Medical record systems in the Hospital. Dr. Deen was also a senior training and implementations specialist at eClinical Works— a US$500 million Health IT company where he led the implementation of electronic medical records systems for small and medium healthcare facilities in the U.S.
His entrepreneurial temperament enabled him to establish 2 companies: Ameriwait Logistics Inc and Power Empower Limited.
Dr. Deen is committed to service and positive social change. He has been a Volunteer at the Phoenix Global Humanitarian Foundation as the Vice President for Foundation and Development since 2012.
