Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair is the Chair and Director of the Department of Nursing at the University of Mount Union, Ohio. He is a professor of nursing, he earned his PhD degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, OH, his MSN degree is from Villanova university, PA, and his BSN degree is from Jordan University of Science & Technology, Jordan. Prior to his position as the chair and Director at the University of Mount Union, he served as the associate dean for the school of nursing at Walsh University, OH, and as an assistant professor at Wright State University and University of Mount St. Joseph in Ohio.
Dr. Al-Nsair has vast leadership, academic, and clinical experiences. He worked for several years as a staff nurse in the acute care settings in hospitals. He taught at several institutions of higher education in nursing programs. He taught graduate, undergraduate, completion and accelerated nursing programs. He taught in traditional, adult, and online nursing programs.
Dr. Al-Nsair was instrumental in the development and accreditation of new BSN, second-degree accelerated BSN, RN-BSN, MSN and DNP traditional and online programs. He was also involved in the development of new other health programs such as Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Dr. Al-Nsair was instrumental in obtaining approval and professional accreditation of the mentioned programs.
Dr. Al-Nsair serves an expert peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region, which includes the following 19 states in the US. He served as a peer reviewer in multiple institutional accreditation and/or focused visit.
Dr. Al-Nsair served in several institutional committees that oversee assessment of students leaning outcomes, assessment plans and processes, and program evaluations. He served as a chair for the University Program Assessment Committee at Walsh University and currently serves as the chair for the steering committee of Academic Quality Improvement Process (AQIP). He developed Assessment and Evaluation plans for nursing programs and assisted in plans for other academic programs across the institution.
Dr. Al-Nsair had numerous oral and poster presentations on curricular, teaching and learning, and clinical research topics. He presented on many local, national, and international professional meetings and conferences.
Dr. Al-Nsair serves on several professional community boards. He is the elected Vice President for the Ohio Council of Deans and Directors (OCDD) for schools of nursing with BSN or higher degrees in all of Ohio since 2014. He also serves on advisory boards for nursing programs and local hospitals.
