Nancy Rea

Dr. Nancy Rea currently serves as contributing faculty for the Ph.D. in Public Health and DrPH programs. She began her career at Walden University as a contributing faculty in the College of Health Sciences in November 2007 and became a Core faculty member in the College of Health Sciences in 2008 and taught Biostatistics and Epidemiology courses at Walden. She served as a chair on dissertation committees, a member, and URR. In addition, Dr. Rea served as the Program Director for the College of Health Sciences from 2009 to 2020. She has 28 years of local, regional, and state government experience as a public health administrator and epidemiologist. Nancy has been involved as a researcher in community-based settings in a variety of areas including community health assessment, infectious and chronic diseases, maternal and child health, and bioterrorism and pandemic preparedness, and has served as content/methodology/statistics expert in many of those areas. She is a member of the American Public Health Association and received a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000, and a Masters Degree in Health Service Administration from Gannon University in 1991. She received the Presidents Award for Academic Excellence in January 2012 from Walden Univerisity. She currently holds a Certification in Public Health (CPH).
