Dr. Nancy Rea serves as the Program Director for the PhD in Public Health and DrPH programs. She began her career at Walden University as part-time faculty in the College of Health Sciences in November, 2007 and became full-time faculty member in the College of Health Sciences in 2008 and taught Biostatistics and Epidemiology courses at Walden. She served as a chair on dissertation committees, member and URR She has 28 years with local, regional and state government experience as a public health administrator and epidemiologist. Nancy has been involved as a researcher in community-based settings in a variety of areas including community health assessment, infectious and chronic diseases, maternal and child health, and bioterrorism and pandemic preparedness and has served as content/methodology/statistics expert in many of those areas. She is a member of the American Public Health Association and received a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000, and a Masters Degree in Health Service Administration from Gannon University in 1991. She received the Presidents Award for Academic Excellence in January 2012 from Walden Univerisity. She currently holds a Certification in Public Health.
