Dr. Melissa Taylor's field of study has revolved around nursing and nursing education. She holds advanced degrees in educational leadership as well as nursing education. Her expertise is medical-surgical nursing and nursing leadership. She has worked as a medical-surgical Registered Nurse for nearly 20 years and has held clinical and assistant professor positions at both brick and mortar and online institutions, public and private for over 10 years. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Nurses Association, the South Carolina Nurses Association, and the Golden Key International Honor Society. She has received the Lexington Medical Center Gold Award and the South Carolina Palmetto Gold Award, both of which recognized excellence in nursing practice. She has also received institutional awards for faculty excellence.
