Marilyn Stankiewicz Murphy, PhD, MBA, MS, RN, was a contributing faculty member of Walden University from 2008 to 2016; and has returned to serve as contributing faculty. She has over 15 years in executive leadership positions and 16 years in higher education. She is an author of over 25 publications addressing the importance of leadership in health care. Her research interests include the professional development of women in leadership roles, such as nursing and education. Additionally, Dr. Murphy works as a Nurse Case Manager at the University of Maryland R. Cowley Shock Trauma Center. In this role, she is primarily responsible for identifying appropriate providers and services for trauma patients across the continuum of care.
Dr. Murphy holds a PhD from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Public Policy; an MS from the University of Maryland School of Nursing; an MBA from the University of Baltimore, and a BSN from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA.
