Maria A. Revell, PhD, MSN, RN, COI has more than 30 years in higher education. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tuskegee Institute, her master’s from the University of AL, Huntsville and her doctorate from the University of AL, Birmingham. Her professional nursing career includes 20 years in critical care nursing. These professional experiences include work with people in and outside the US. She has worked with individuals in Cuba, the Czech Republic, China and South Africa in promoting evidence based care delivery.
Dr. Revell has more than 30 publications and presentations on topics from educational techniques to health care interventions. Grants include promotion of diversity in academic settings. She has designed and implemented web-based and web-enhanced technology for undergraduate and graduate nursing courses since 1988. These courses include graduate and undergraduate research, pathophysiology, health assessment, critical care nursing, pharmacology and adult health, among others. She has given several faculty presentations to facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning including software use and best practices in online education.
