M.S. Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Dr. Zappitello has a B.S. in child development and family relationships (with a minor in music), and a M.A. is in counseling psychology and counselor education with an additional emphasis in marriage and family counseling. She has an Ed.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, and enjoys teaching and supervising graduate level counseling students.

Dr. Zappitello is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Licensed Addiction Counselor in the State of Colorado, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri, and has experience as a board and committee member for state and national mental health organizations. Her professional experience includes working as a case manager and counselor in a child placement agency specializing in sexual abuse and addictions, and as a therapist in an eating disorder hospital setting. In addition to teaching graduate counseling courses, she has had a private practice serving individuals, couples, and families. She has also provided clinical supervision for master’s level practitioners and addiction professionals working toward licensure and certification in the State of Colorado.
