Linda Champney spent twenty years in public schools, working at several levels as a language arts teacher, reading tutor, reading specialist, etc. She retired from the public schools after getting her Masters in Curriculum/Reading & Writing and working at the community college and college levels teaching struggling readers, study skills, and secondary teachers. Linda earned her PhD in Educational Leadership & Innovation (focus on reading/writing) and then taught content area reading to preservice secondary teachers at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado. She also supervised student teachers at all levels in the fields of English/Language Arts, social studies, reading, and elementary education.
At Walden, Dr. Champney has taught several different classes in the EdD Reading/Literacy/Assessment area, has supervised student teachers in the elementary education area, has chaired several EdD dissertation committees, and served as secondary committee person on several more.
