Dr. Leigh Ann Farmer is a nursing executive with over 19 years experience as a nurse with over ten of those years in academia. She has served as Dean of Nursing and has taught at the associate, bachelors and master's level. Her teaching experience includes medical-surgical, health assessment, informatics, care of the older adult and nursing leadership. At Walden, she is a contributing faculty member in the MSN Nurse Executive speciality. Dr. Farmer is clinical operations, product and higher education leader with 10+ years’ progressive experience including start-ups, project leadership, informatics, developing/improving programs/operations, executing pilots, product development/management, initiatives & resources driving academic success, retention & graduation rates, and NCLEX success. Today, Dr. Farmer is passionate about driving & sustaining excellence in nursing programs.
Dr. Farmer is renowned for leadership skills. Possessing superb interpersonal abilities, she is skilled at communicating, influencing, negotiating, facilitating, presenting & getting others excited about implementing new ideas.
