Laurie Bedford, PhD, is a Faculty Specialist for academic initiatives and center support, for the Center Faculty Excellence at Walden University. Dr. Bedford partners with the Center for Student Success, the Center for Research Quality, and Academic Residencies to deliver faculty development related to the mission of the individual centers. Dr. Bedford’s responsibilities also include coordinating pilot studies and collaborating with stakeholders across the University to identify best practices that will subsequently inform faculty development opportunities and policy.
Throughout her career, Dr. Bedford has worked with all levels of education promoting effective online learning delivery, instructional design, faculty development, and curriculum implementation. Working with both public and for-profit education, she has designed learning programs, developed course materials, and facilitated faculty development focused on active learning strategies and learner center approaches.
Dr. Bedford has a Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of Wyoming as well as a Master of Science degree in Administrative Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of South Dakota.
