Dr. LaJuana Ormsby's formal training is in social work education and social research. She has served in various professional roles over a 25 year career. Dr. Ormsby has served as a military branch Subject Matter Expert in the areas of substance abuse prevention, child/family maltreatment and mental health interventions while also previously serving in a social services professional role for non-profit organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). In her current role at Walden University, Dr. Ormsby teaches graduate social work students new to the program.

Dr. Ormsby's research interest currently focuses on new parent support, child maltreatment prevention and alcohol reduction interventions.
