Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership
I am Dr. Lahna Tate and I will be your facilitator for this eight-week course. I have been an educator for 27 years. I began my career in Chicago, where I was born and raised. I taught in Chicago for 10 years, and I often reminisce about the great times I had. In Chicago, I’ve experienced teaching regular and special education classes from kindergarten to eighth grade. I relocated to Tampa, Florida and had the opportunity to teach in all social economic levels, and I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge from the experience. In Tampa, I have been a sixth grade middle school teacher, a high school reading coach, a behavior specialist, and an Assistant Principal at an inner city school. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (EMH) with a minor in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Special Education (SLD), a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, and my Doctorate is in Organizational Leadership. As you can clearly see, I believe in lifelong learning and I commit to an educational goal every year. In the near future I plan to complete my Specialist Degree in Reading.
