Kent Becker, Ed.D. has been a counselor educator for over 20 years. He is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist. Dr. Becker serves as a contributing faculty at Walden University. Since 2006, Dr. Becker has been working with mental health consumers in a variety of communities. This work has included the use of photovoice as a research and advocacy tool helping individuals impacted by mental health challenges and the system to share their stories - through photographs and narratives. His photovoice work has also included working with communities in Canada, India and Germany. Dr. Becker is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) as well as several divisions. In addition to serving in a faculty role, he has served administratively as a program coordinator, department chair and college dean. Dr. Becker believes strongly in co-developing collaborative learning environments in which the voices of all members are engaged and honored.
