Dr. Kecia Freeman is a Contributing Faculty in School of Human Services since 2020. In 2018, she started with Walden as a Postdoc Fellow with the School Human Services. Her efforts in social change focus on systems thinking to create systemic solutions that prevent child maltreatment. She has 26 years of employment experiences in the local government sector of Child Welfare Services. Dr. Freeman is a published author and her research interests include Adolescent Dating Violence; Protecting Commercially Sexual Exploited Children; Vicarious Trauma; Reducing the Rate of Recidivism in Work Related Trauma – Practicing Self Care; and Bridging the Gap between Social Work practices and technology.
