My name is Karyn Hawkins-Scott. I was born and lived in the DC/Maryland area. In 2016 I relocated to Florida. I have been in the field of education for nearly 20 years. Most of my career has been in school administration. I have been a Principal since 2004 in private, charter and public schools Primarily Early Childhood to Grade 8. Prior to obtaining a principal position I taught Elementary and Middle School and was an Assistant Principal for a few years. I began teaching online in 2008 guiding doctoral students.
I attended Howard University (BA & MSW). I also have a Master's in Adult Education (University of Phoenix) and a doctorate in Educational Leadership (Nova SouthEastern University). My online teaching experience involves guiding doctoral students through the dissertation process and instructing Early Childhood courses. I have found this to very rewarding as students live out their dreams and acquire their ultimate goal of receiving their doctorate degree. I enjoy community service projects and tutoring students who need additional assistance in reading.
I have two sons. One graduated from Howard University, a Biology major and Chemistry minor. He is a Lab Researcher. My youngest son is Full Sail University graduate and majored in Film Production. I have written a book, provide early childhood training and presentations, as well as conduct research on latest trends in education. I enjoy traveling, crafting and reading.
