I have been practicing as a registered nurse for more than 35 years. I received my doctorate in Public Health (PhD) in community health promotion and education and master's in Public Health (M.P.H.) from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, masters (MSN) and bachelor's (BSN) degree in Nursing from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, and a registered nurse (RN) diploma from The Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Michigan. I was born/raised in Michigan, lived and worked in Iowa for 12 years, and currently reside in San Antonio, Texas for the past 5 years. I am board certified as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC) and taught at various nursing programs in southeastern Michigan and northeast Iowa. I currently maintain a clinical practice as an ARNP in primary care, and have been teaching graduate core nursing courses part-time at Walden University as a Contributing Faculty member since 2011.
