Dr. Kara Beckett is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Georgia Center for Mental Wellness, LLC. She has more than 15 years of experience in the social work field including clinical practice and supervision, program development and administration, leadership, and education.
Dr. Beckett earned her bachelor’s degree in family studies from the University of Maryland at College Park, a master’s degree in social work from Howard University, and doctorate in social work from Rutgers University. Her areas of specialization include treatment and advocacy for victims of domestic minor sex trafficking, trauma, mood disorders, parent training, and veteran services. She has extensive experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and adults in a community-based setting to working with individuals and families in a therapeutic setting.
