Dr. Julia East is the DBA Academic Program Coordinator for Walden University. Dr. East joined Walden’s DBA program in March 2013 as a contributing faculty member. In September 2015 Dr. East transitioned to full-time status as a DBA Faculty Consultant and in 2016 took the role of Lead DBA Faculty Consultant. In the Spring of 2017, Dr. East was promoted to Senior Core Faculty, one of only three in the College of Management and Technology to receive this new classification. Dr. East formerly held the position of Director of the Center for Leadership and Innovation of Florida Gulf Coast University and served as President/CEO for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, Uncommon Friends Foundation, and Regional Vision. Dr. East has developed curriculum and taught in bachelor, master, doctoral, and executive programs. As a curriculum developer and professor, Dr. East has international experience, working with Wuerzburg University, Wuerzburg Germany, and Vietnamese National University in Ho Chi Min City and Hanoi, Vietnam. As the founder of TEAK Coaching, Dr. East specialized in organizational transformation and executive coaching. Dr. East earned a B.S. in computer application information systems and an M.S. in communication from Clarion University and a D.M. in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix. Dr. East has served on numerous for-profit and nonprofit boards and currently is an active member of the Rotary Club of Fort Myers, Florida, the Development Committee for Stuart Hall Schools in Staunton, Virginia, and Chair of the Bylaws Committee for the Daughters of the American Revolution Caloosahatchee Chapter in Fort Myers, Florida.
