Dr. Judy Boyd's formal training is in elementary education and educational leadership where she has served in various roles since she began her career in 1991. The roles include teacher, instructional literacy coach, school level administrator and director. As a classroom teacher Dr. Boyd achieved National Board Teacher status in 1999. As an instructional literacy coach she achieved Teacher of the Year for Bel-Aire Elmentary and Orange Grove Kiwanis. Numerous presentations at the school, district and state level. As a director, Dr. Boyd served as the Federal Programs Director, district test coordinator, ESL coordinator, professional development coordinator and gifted coordinator. As a director, Dr. Boyd presented several district and state level presentations. Also to include an International presentation at Fusion NWEA. Dr. Boyd also became involved with Mississippi Association of Federal Education Directors where she not only served as a member but also on the Board of Directors. She also became involved with National Association of Federal Program Administrators and National Title I Organization. Being involved in these many district level administrative positions taught her many aspects of the operations on the fourth largest district in the State of Mississippi. Upon retirement, Dr. Boyd moved in to higher education positions related to educational leadership and elementary education. At Walden University, she serves as a core faculty member in elementary education.
