Dr. Rizzo earned his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of Akron. He has been licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory endorsement (PCC-S) in Ohio since 1999. He has practiced in community mental health, private practice, and in residential treatment for youth. He has been a Contributing Faculty member at Walden University since 2014 in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.
His teaching, professional, and research interests include: counseling adults, adolescents and children; trauma; chronic pain; counselor preparation and supervision; and performance & quality improvement.
